Operation Foster Freedom
Here is our story...
First of all I want to say thank you for your support of me and my pursuit of life. The love you give me is remarkable and much appreciated. I wouldn't be where I am now without you. I want you to
really get the brevity of that statement. YOU have played a major role in my life in some way, shape or form. This is why I am thankful for you and who you have helped me to become. I am love, joy, passion, fun, power, help, compassion, drive, health, wisdom, peace, patience, and happy because of YOU! This is my life... you are my life!
In saying that this is my call to action. I am sending this in an urgent effort to raise $5000 by July 24th for Krissty, my wife, to be free from the threat of jail time in the State of Missouri. This is
Operation Foster Freedom!
We are being vulnerable and opening our hearts to you. Here is our story.
Please read this in it's entirety.
Thank you!
Krissty and I married in 2002 at the age of 20 and 21 respectively. Through several years of marriage we were separated twice and finally divorced when David, our first son, turned one. After about two years Krissty decided to try to create a family she always dreamed of so she started dating a man that had, in her eyes, success. I won't go into detail about his character other than the fact that he is a man that takes advantage of every opportunity, even if it hurts those who care for him. Krissty placed her trust in him as a successful business owner and went through with a decision to have one of his restaurants placed solely in her name. After a grueling six months in business without bills, staff, or taxes being paid on a consistent basis, he shut his doors. Krissty knew nothing about the unpaid debts. He found another partner with money and opened another restaurant, this time not in Krissty's name. This happened several times. Then, the unthinkable happened, the State of Missouri placed Krissty in jail for failure to appear in court because of the taxes owed. Krissty knew nothing about the court date. After one day in a box with bars and a cot to sleep, John Seabaugh, a father figure to Krissty, told his wife, Lorene to "get his girl out of that awful place." Krissty was taken away from her kids for the crime her husband committed. After this incident Krissty demanded her husband to pay the monthly payments the court had established while she was on probation. Krissty was, at this time a stay at home mother of a two year old, Carter; a five year old, David; and pregnant. She was not working a paying job, she thought that she was living in a house they were purchasing and everything was secure. At this time, I wanted to open up my relationship with David so I chose to have a conversation with Krissty. All I did was open myself up to her. After about an hour of conversing, David asked Krissty if he could talk to Daddy. I talked to my son and it was different. No hesitation, obligation or excuses to want to get off the phone. It was profound! Later that day, Krissty was told by her husband that he was divorcing her. It was heartbreaking news to her. After a week of no communication with him and no money to buy diapers, she came home, holding Carter with a diaper full of diarrhea in her arms trudging through the snow. She soon found out that the water was turned off due to it being turned on illegally. The house she once thought they were buying was being foreclosed on in two weeks due to non-payment of rent for over four months. She walked outside to fill a pot with snow and melted it to clean Carter up. With the help of my sister, I was able to reserve a hotel room for her and the boys until the water was turned back on. When Krissty got home she was in a dilemma of what to do next. Then, the icing on the cake. She found out he was cheating on her with her best friend of 11 years. All this chaos for a pregnant, single mother of two boys, with one of them being my very own. This was not a good environment for any of them. Krissty looked into moving in with a cousin in Arizona, but decided, for my relationship with David it would be too far. I am pursuing a Doctorate in Chiropractic at Life University in Georgia. I had recently moved into a two bedroom house closer to school, so I offered for her and the boys to move in as a roommate for six months until she got up on her feet. She thankfully accepted. She sold nearly all of their possessions in a week, packed the rest up, and moved here to Georgia. Our friendship was instant and the gratitude was immeasurable. We then took a journey we both knew was full of adventure. After a few short months I chose to be the father of both Carter and our new addition, John. I also chose love with the one I said "I do" to years ago. We have been back together for about a year and it has been a powerful, loving, caring, creative, honest, open, and exciting journey.
Now, here we are completing the past. While in Missouri visiting family, Krissty chose to visit the Department of Revenue to clean everything up. Thank God she did! She found out that there was a court date for her probation. If she did not make the hearing she would be arrested for who knows how long. So, two weeks ago she appeared in front of the Judge in Missouri to hear her case. The Judge chose to give her till the 24th of July to pay restitution in the amount of $5000. He strongly stated if it was not paid she would be sentenced to jail time. Now, here is our call to action. We are asking you to partner with us and donate what you can to help keep our family together. Every single penny helps! $1, $5, $20, $100, whatever you are able to give. Please partner with us in creating the possibility of love, commitment, compassion and
FREEDOM!!!!
